The EMT Intermediate class prepares EMT Basics to take the next step in providing advanced emergency care to the victims of accidents or illness. Through performance of in depth assessments and providing additional skills with administration of advanced life support medications, they can reduce mortality and morbidity in the pre-hospital setting.
The course follows the DOT curriculum as outlined by the Utah Bureau of Emergency Medical Services and prepares students to successfully complete testing to be recognized as an Intermediate EMT. 54 hours of instruction and intensive hands-on experiences give the student confidence in caring for patients and an insight into the fragile nature of life.

Class Prices
The price for EMT-Intermediate training is $550 along with the certification fees.
EMT-Intermediate Certification Fees
- There is a $80 Resident fee.
- There is a $130 Non-Resident fee. Please note, you are considered a non-resident if, within the last 5 years, you have lived outside of Utah. A finger-printing with the application is required.
- This fee is seperate from your tuition and is used for testing and application processing. A check or order money needs to be made out to BEMS. The fee is due at the time of your registration.
